Jenifer Nadeau

Associate Professor/Equine Extension Specialist


Dr. Nadeau helps horse owners with non-medical issues arising with horses and works with the UConn 4-H Horse Program. She teaches ANSC 2251, Horse Science in the fall and spring, and one section of UNIV 1810, FYE ANSC Learning Community in the fall. She also teaches 3 independent study classes and the trail practicum. She is currently conducting research entitled “One Health – Dog Bite Prevention and Recovery Program as well as development of a non-invasive electroencephalography (EEG) method for recording brain activity in horses during rest, brief social separation, and reward. She has one MS Graduate Student, Harper Sanford.

    Extension, Outreach, and Service

    Dr. Nadeau writes articles for the CT Horse Council Newsletter. She also writes fact sheets for horse owners. She gives presentations across the state to various horse-related groups. She works closely with the 4-H Horse Program. She coordinates the FFA Regional Judging Contest at UConn and holds the annual CT Horse Symposium at UConn. She involves students in all of these activities.
