Fernando Magaço

About
Fernando Magaço is originally from Tete Province, Mozambique. He completed his Bachelor of Science in in Agricultural Engineering in 2014 at the Universidade Zambeze, Mozambique, and his Master of Science degree in 2018 at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is currently a PhD student at the same institution. He is a recipient of the Doutorado Sanduiche no Exterior Program and is currently a visiting researcher at the University of Connecticut under the supervision of Dr. Breno Fragomeni. His research focuses on the use of genome-wide data to support selection decision and to identify functional candidate genes associated with reproductive traits, aiming to improve livestock productivity and efficiency.
