Closed Bidding - UC Flor de Mayo Only

*Bidding Closed*

The UConn Department of Animal Science is pleased to announce a one-time closed bidding for a horse from our equine program. This unique opportunity allows interested individuals and parties to bid on a horse that would excel as a lower-level dressage, 4H, or hunter/jumper with an amateur or advanced young rider.

UC Flor de Mayo

2018 Morgan Mare

UC Flor de Mayo “Flo” is a 7-year-old Morgan mare standing at 15hh. Flo is by UC Doc Sanchez and out of Friend Charity Rose. Flo truly is a versatile horse. She has three solid, comfortable gaits under saddle. She was started over fences but has not jumped since the fall. Flo loves to go on trail rides and takes all obstacles, including water, bravely. She ties, bathes, and stands for the vet and farrier. Flo had a trailering incident in Nov. of last year and is doing well with retraining, however, she will need to ship in a stock trailer or trailer with box stall. The injury she sustained during the incident is completely resolved and she is back in full under saddle work with no impact on her future career. Her friendly demeaner and go with the “flo” attitude lends her to be a fun lower-level dressage, 4H, or hunter/jumper with an amateur or advanced young rider.
