Selected Retirement Horses for Sale

Mystique
2002 FresianX Mare
Mystique is a 22-year-old black FresianX mare standing 16hh. After being donated to UConn in 2012, she quickly became a staple within our lesson programs. Mystique is well loved by our Western, Hunt Seat, and Dressage teams, as well as the community lesson riders. After giving her all to our program, it is time for her to find her forever home. Mystique has a history of a check ligament injury but would be suitable for light under saddle work, trails, or as a companion horse. She is great for the farrier and vet, an easy keeper, barefoot, and is great in turnout with others.

Lucia
2001 Thoroughbred Mare
Lucia is a 24-year-old thoroughbred mare standing ~15.2 hands. After being donated in 2013, Lucia has spent the last 12 years teaching students and the community how much heart a horse can put into their job and to respect a horse that takes her job seriously. Although she still loves her job, it is time for her to retire from polo to a less demanding life. She would be perfect for someone looking for a light hacking, stick and ball, trail, or companion horse, but not suitable for beginner riders. Lucia is great for the vet and farrier, clips, loads, and is great in turnout with others.

Night Star
2002 Morgan Gelding
Night star is a 23-year-old UConn bred Morgan Gelding standing 15 hands. Night star has been a huge part of our program from teaching beginner riders to participating in upper-level lessons. He played multiple roles in our Hunt Seat, Dressage, and Western teams as well as community lessons and quickly became a favorite. After being such an essential part of our program, he is now looking for his lifelong retirement home where he can be pampered and live a life of leisure. Night star is great for the farrier, vet, barefoot, and is an easy keeper. He would be best suited for a home where he lives most days relaxing but could do light work under saddle in an arena only.
